Just scratching the surface

Speaking of which, during the charter-schools debate, Wells had a "gotcha" moment, revealing that West Virginia Federation of Teachers political organizer Josh Sword is a nephew of School Service Personnel Association executive secretary Bob Brown.

Apparently, though, he was just scratching the surface of staffing at WVFT.

Other familial ties include WVFT President Judy Hale's daughter, Leah Hale, who works as a administrative assistant, and niece, Jennifer Clark, who is a staff representative. Meanwhile, Rosemary Jenkins, director of field services, works with her brother, Sidney Fragale, and daughter-in-law, Joy Jenkins, who are both employed as staff representatives.

Obviously, this is a private entity and not subject to anti-nepotism rules that apply to governmental agencies, but keep in mind we're talking about a 16-person operation.
